2026 is shaping up to be busy! Production companies have signed off on several movies and TV series to be filmed in Ireland this year. There’ll be plenty of jobs for our movie extras, particularly in counties Dublin and Wicklow.

The Irish feature film and TV industry had a fantastic 2025. Production companies spent €544m in the country last year, cementing Ireland’s reputation as a premier production location. Universal Pictures, Netflix, and Apple all filmed here recently.

From true Irish tragedies such as Frank Berry’s The Lost Children of Tuam, to upcoming Netflix blockbuster Mercenary: An Extraction Series, Celtic Casting was delighted to provide our talented background artists and featured-extras to add atmosphere and life to the wonderful scripts. Notably, Ethan Hawke’s performance in Blue Moon scored a 2026 Academy Award Nomination for Best Actor. Filming took place in Dublin and Wicklow—with Celtic Casting providing the background actors. There was no shortage of jobs for Irish movie extras throughout the year.
